Be Careful What You Wish For Immortal Me
Vlad’s mind raced. How would he obtain the throne? Perhaps the Turks could help. He had befriended Pasha Mustafa Hassan in the past years, and now the peace treaty would be nullified between the Turks and Walachia considering his father did not sit the throne anymore. Thoughts of revenge and murder filled Vlad’s mind as he raced through the palace to Mustafa’s harem. Normally Vlad wasn’t allowed in there, except on special occasions, however, recent events warranted his entry.
The guards at the massive bronze doors stopped him dead in his tracks with a pair of gleaming halberds. Vlad quickly explained the situation and one of the guards retreated into the harem to inform Mustafa. Not long after the bronze doors swung wide open to reveal the blissful sanctuary. Women were lying everywhere with little or no clothes on, almost all of them with their breasts exposed. Vlad had been in here before, but it was still hard for him to contain himself whenever he entered. The women were breathtakingly beautiful, not to mention naked. Mustafa had given two women to Vlad to enjoy for his most recent birthday, and enjoy them he did. Vlad quickly paced to the other end of the room where Mustafa was lying with four women coddling and fussing over him.
“Ah, my young Vlad how can I help you at this most distressing time? My guards informed me of the news.” Mustafa’s mustache twitched as he spoke.
“Esteemed Pasha Mustafa Hassan, I request the aid of you and your kingdom in the defeat of the usurpers of the Walachia throne, to revenge my father and to allow me my rightful place in their stead.” The Harem had grown deathly silent, waiting for Mustafa’s reply, which came at long last.
“Very well Vlad. I shall accompany you on the field of battle with my finest cavalry, and in addition I grant your and Radu’s freedom to return to Walachia if you wish. We shall not allow the Boyars to obtain the throne while it is rightfully yours. But for now, come rest and enjoy my Harem we will ride by the end of this week.” Vlad settled down in the Harem to take pleasure in Mustafa’s myriad of women.
Later that week…
The trek back to Walachia had been a long and arduous one. However, overall the troops and horses arrived healthy and prepared for battle. Thousands of cavalry stood opposing a mixed unit sent out by the Boyars of Walachia. Vlad had on his side numbers and better trained soldiers. He had no doubt of the outcome. Vlad was sad that his brother, Radu, had not accompanied him back to Walachia, deciding instead to stay in Turkish lands.
Mustafa himself sounded the war horn as the Turkish troops descended down the steep hill and onto the broad plain that separated them from their foe. The Turkish cavalry tore into the terrified conscripts the Boyars had hired to defend their new throne. Vlad was deep in his own bloodlust, killing soldier after soldier that dared to confront him and his gleaming scimitar. He heard men screaming and dying all around him, yet he pushed on cleaving his way through the betrayers. This was HIS land, and he would have it as long as he should live.
The battle lasted hours, but when it was over the Turks were the supreme victors. A ceremony was held as Vlad rode back into Walachia to reclaim his throne. Mustafa had his troops fan out, searching for John Hunyadi but he was not in the city. Vlad had wanted to punish his father’s killer.
In the following years Vlad solidified his rule over Walachia and tirelessly pursued John Hunyadi until he found and killed him, but wasn’t satisfied with his death. He longed to seek out all the boyars, and kill them. However, the more obsessed Vlad became with killing and punishing those that opposed him, the more afraid he became of death. He did not want to die. He sent out across the land for magicians and sorcerers with supposed great powers. All of them were frauds…except one… |
